How do I get from Bali airport to Jimbaran? A private pre-booked transfer is the easiest option for the short hop. Jimbaran sits roughly 7 km south of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), and the drive takes 15–25 minutes depending on traffic on Jl. Uluwatu (the bay road can slow during sunset seafood rush, 6–8 PM). Vehicle options range from the Toyota Avanza (4 pax) up to Innova, Alphard, Mercedes V-Class, and Mercedes S-Class — ask us for a quote. Jimbaran is the closest premium beach area to DPS — perfect for late arrivals, short-stay layovers, or guests who want to walk straight from the airport into a sunset seafood dinner on the sand at Kedonganan. Includes name-board meet, flight tracking, child seats, bottled water, and direct delivery to Four Seasons, InterContinental, Ayana, Belmond, or any private villa.
About Jimbaran and Getting There
Jimbaran is a long, gentle bay just south of the airport — calm water, soft sand, and a strip of legendary beachfront seafood warungs at Kedonganan that have been grilling fresh fish over coconut husks for forty years. On the cliffs above the bay sit some of Bali's grandest resorts: Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, the InterContinental, Belmond Jimbaran Puri, and a little further south on the Uluwatu peninsula, Ayana Resort and its sister property RIMBA.
From DPS, the route is short: south on Jl. Uluwatu, past the GWK turn-off, and into Jimbaran proper. Seven kilometres total, 15–25 minutes in normal traffic. The road is two-lane and can bottleneck at the Jimbaran traffic-light cluster during sunset hours, but the delay rarely exceeds 10 minutes. There is no toll road on this route.
Jimbaran's geography divides into three pockets: the bay-side beachfront (Four Seasons, InterContinental, Belmond, Kedonganan seafood) on the east, the cliff-side Ayana cluster (Ayana, RIMBA, Karang Saujana Estate) on the west, and the GWK Cultural Park inland a few kilometres up. Each pocket has its own access road, and our drivers know all of them — Jimbaran addresses can confuse new drivers because the same hotel sometimes has both a "main entrance" on the highway and a "beach entrance" via a back road.
Pair this transfer with our Bali fast-track arrival service — skip immigration first, then transfer — for the genuinely fastest airport-to-beach time on the island. Wheels-down to feet-in-sand at Four Seasons can realistically be 35 minutes total.

Why Pre-Book Your Transfer to Jimbaran
Jimbaran is so close to the airport that some travellers assume a walk-up taxi will do. It usually will — but pre-booking is still the more sensible move. The airport taxi counter quotes Rp 200,000–350,000, fair pricing, but the driver is rarely briefed on which Jimbaran sub-area you actually need (cliff-side Ayana? bay-side Four Seasons? GWK plateau villa?). On a transfer this short, ten minutes of driver confusion is a meaningful percentage of the trip.
We pre-confirm the exact entrance, the access lane, the resort gate procedure. The vehicle is the one you booked, not whatever was next in the queue. The driver speaks English. The price is fixed in writing. After a long-haul flight, even small frictions matter.
Jimbaran is also the natural choice for short-stay layovers. If you have an 8-hour gap between flights and want to actually see something of Bali, we will pick you up at DPS, run you down to Jimbaran for a sunset seafood dinner at Kedonganan, and have you back at the airport with time to spare. Our meet and greet service handles the bag situation; we have done this layover routine countless times.
For premium arrivals to Four Seasons, Ayana, or Belmond, consider stepping up to our airport limousine service, the VIP assistance package, or our VVIP handling. The Jimbaran resort concierges already know us by name.
Local Tips for Jimbaran Arrivals
Sunset seafood is the move. The Kedonganan beach seafood warungs (Menega, Bawang Merah, Furama, Roman's) set up grills directly on the sand from 5 PM. Tables in the sand, fresh fish picked from the morning's catch, sunset over the bay, planes taking off behind you. It is touristy in the best sense — locals eat here too.
Sunset traffic is real, briefly. Jl. Uluwatu around the Jimbaran turn-offs slows between 6 PM and 8 PM as seafood diners arrive. Add 10 minutes to your transfer time during this window. Anything outside it clears in under 20 minutes.
Cliff-side vs bay-side matters. Tell the driver which Jimbaran. Four Seasons, InterContinental, Belmond Jimbaran Puri, and the seafood warungs are bay-side (east). Ayana, RIMBA, and Karang Saujana Estate are cliff-side (west, on the Bukit). Six Senses Uluwatu sits at the southern boundary and is technically Uluwatu, not Jimbaran.
Late arrivals are easy. Jimbaran's short distance and well-lit road make it the second-best late-night arrival on the island after Nusa Dua. We have done DPS to Four Seasons in 14 minutes at 1 AM.
GWK is 15 minutes inland. If your itinerary includes the GWK Cultural Park (the giant Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue), it is a quick add-on from Jimbaran — 15 minutes by car. We are happy to combine the airport transfer with a brief GWK stop on the way in.

Bali Airport to Jimbaran — Common Questions
15–25 minutes in normal traffic. Bay-side resorts (Four Seasons, InterContinental, Belmond) are 15–18 minutes. Cliff-side resorts (Ayana, RIMBA) are 20–25 minutes due to the climb up the Bukit. Sunset hours (6–8 PM) add about 10 minutes thanks to seafood-dinner traffic on Jl. Uluwatu. Late-night arrivals after 10 PM are the fastest — DPS to Four Seasons in 14 minutes at 1 AM is realistic.
Yes. Jl. Uluwatu south is well-lit, two-lane, and regularly patrolled. The bay-side hotels have 24/7 security gates. Late-night transfers to Jimbaran are among the most relaxed runs we do. The cliff-side Ayana cluster has a more winding access road, but our drivers know it well. Either way, no concerns — the south-coast roads are in better condition than most of Bali.
Yes — particularly for first-night arrivals after a long-haul flight or short 2–3 night layovers. The proximity to the airport means you maximise actual relaxation time. Jimbaran's beach is calmer than Seminyak/Canggu, the resort scene is well-established, and Kedonganan seafood is a genuinely special Bali first dinner. For longer stays, many guests pair Jimbaran with a few nights in Ubud or Uluwatu.
Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay is a genuine landmark — bay-side villas, world-class service, the original. Belmond Jimbaran Puri is the boutique alternative with more intimate cottages. InterContinental is larger and family-friendly. Ayana is the cliff-side option with the famous Rock Bar. We are happy to share opinions by WhatsApp if you are deciding between them; honest recommendations rather than commission-driven steering.
Absolutely — this is one of our most-requested layover services. With a 6+ hour gap between flights, we will pick you up at DPS, run you down to Kedonganan beach for sunset seafood, and have you back at the airport with two hours to spare for international check-in. Bag storage at the airport is available; we handle the logistics. WhatsApp us with your layover times for a custom quote.
Yes. GWK Cultural Park is a 15-minute detour inland and a worthwhile 90-minute stop if you have time on the way to your hotel. Uluwatu Temple for sunset Kecak (5–7 PM start) is a longer extension — about 25 minutes south of Jimbaran — but a beautiful first-day experience if your flight arrives mid-afternoon. Tell us your plan when booking and we will block the driver's schedule accordingly. Modest hourly rate for extended waiting after the first 30 minutes.
Beyond Jimbaran
Jimbaran is a great base for the south coast — combine with day trips to Uluwatu Temple, GWK, and Padang Padang. We also offer fixed-price transfers from DPS to Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu, and Sanur. For day tours, see our Bali tour packages. For private sea trips from the Bukit, our Bali yacht charter service departs from nearby Benoa Harbour.
