Do I need a Bali SIM card? Yes — for any stay longer than a few days, an Indonesian SIM or eSIM is essential. Free Wi-Fi is unreliable outside hotels and beach clubs, ride-hailing apps need data to function, and your home roaming plan will likely cost 5–10× more than a local plan. SIM & eSIM Questions
The eSIM is sent to you as a QR code by email immediately after you book. You scan it once with your phone (Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM on iPhone, or Settings → Connections → SIM Manager on Android) and the profile is installed. The data plan activates the moment your phone connects to an Indonesian network — usually as soon as you land in Bali.
Indonesian networks operate on 4G LTE bands B1 (2100), B3 (1800), B5 (850), and B40 (TDD 2300) plus 5G NR B1, B3, B40. Phones bought in the US, EU, UK, AU, JP, SG, and most other regions support these bands. If your phone is locked to a specific home carrier, you must unlock it first. Send us your phone model and we'll check compatibility.
Physical SIMs are hand-delivered to your hotel, villa, or Bali Fast Track meeting point at the airport. There is no extra delivery fee for hotels in Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Ubud, Nusa Dua, and Jimbaran. For Lovina, Amed, Munduk, or remote villas, we may add a small delivery surcharge — confirmed before you pay.
Yes. Indonesia requires all SIM cards to be registered against a passport or local ID under regulations from KOMINFO (Ministry of Communication and Information). All our SIMs and eSIMs are pre-registered against your passport details — provided when you book — so you avoid the airport registration counter entirely.

Yes — all our plans allow tethering / personal hotspot. The Nomad Unlimited plan is the most popular for digital nomads who tether laptops and tablets. There are no soft caps under 100 GB; beyond that the network may apply Fair Usage Policy speed throttling for the remainder of the cycle.
